2020.6.30 A new tourist train begins operation in October 15th, 2020 ～Introduction of the concept～ In October 15th, 2020, JR Kyushu will debut new tourist train for the first time in approximately three and a half years. The "36+3” tours all of the prefectures of Kyushu, the 36th largest island in the world, and welcomes customers to par- take in a journey that is packed with 35 episodes to enjoy Kyushu on five routes. We created this experience with the hope that customers will enjoy all of the train’s routes and tell us about their “36th episode". Regarding sales method, it is currently being adjusted. We will announce as soon as we decide. This time, we inform about only concept or operating route of 36+3 train. If you would like to enjoy the train travel in Kyushu more, don't miss this information! The Hisatsu Orange Railway has suspended the operation service due to the effect of heavy rain. Because of this influence, Limited Express "36+3" will not be operated on Thursday (Hakata - Kgoshima-Chou) for the time being. Therefore, operating service will be started from Kagoshima-Chuo station on Friday route. Originally, the first day of service was October 15th (Thu), however October 16th (Fri) will become the first day to operate due to the suspension of service on Thursday. 2016.11.14 Partial Change of Eligibility for use of JR Kyushu Rail Pass JR Kyushu Rail Pass has been sold to a Japanese national living outside of Japan who meets the certain conditions, however, the sales of the Exchange Order will be ended on March 31, 2017. (The Exchange Order is not sold in Japan.) Eligibility of use of the Exchange Order sold on and after April 1, 2017 will exclusively be for foreign tourists visiting Japan from abroad for sightseeing, under the entry status of "temporary visitor." (*Only for those who have the foreign passport.) |

2015.12.21 New rules for JR Kyushu Rail Pass From April 1st 2016, the usage rules of the pass will change as below.
