Notes Regarding Usage

Validity Period

Regarding the validity period of JR Kyushu Mobile Pass:
The pass must be used on consecutive days. For example: 2 consecutive days validity such as Jan.1 and 2.
You may not use non-consecutive days (interval in-between).

Discounts for Children

Pass price for children (age between 6 and 11) is half of the adult price.

The age of the child will be as of the date when the pass is first effective.

Applicable Trains

  • Each pass is only valid for unreserved seats on the limited express and local/rapid trains within the area.

    *The pass is not valid for the Kyushu (Hakata-Kurume) and Sanyo (Hakata-Kokura) bullet trains.

  • If you wish to sit in the reserved seat of an ordinary car, please purchase a Base Fare Ticket ansd a reserved seat express ticket (with the specified fare) in advance before boarding.
  • Green cars are not eligible.

Eligibility for Use

Non-Japanese citizens who are visiting Japan for the purpose of sightseeing and traveling on a temporary visitor visa.

  1. You must hold a passport issued by a country other than Japan.
  2. You must reside outside Japan and are visiting Japan on a temporary visitor visa(*).

Those who satisfy conditions 1 and 2 above are eligible.

*When entering Japan, please receive proof of "temporary visitor" with a stamp or seal on your passport. If you are using an automated gate when entering Japan, please ask the airport staff and receive a certificate from your passport with a stamp or seal.

Conditions of Use

  1. This pass can be used only by the Mobile pass purchaser.
  2. When you use the pass, please always carry your passport with you.
  3. The pass cannot be used for JR Kyushu buses,B&S Miyazaki buses,the Cruise Train Seven Stars in Kyushu and the ARU RESSHA(Sweet Train).
  4. The pass cannot be used for the Sanyo Shinkansen (between Hakata and Kokura) and the Kyushu Shinkansen(Hakata and Kurume).
  5. If you wish to sit in the reserved seat of an ordinary car, a separate express ticket fee (with the specified fare) must be paid.
  6. The Mobile Pass cannot be used for any Green Cars, DX Green or Green Compartments(Private Rooms).
  7. The pass is only valid within the JR Kyushu service area even though there may be some lines in Kyushu operated by other companies.
  8. Travel on trains outside of the designated coverage area of your pass is subject to an additional fee/charge.

    Refunds are accepted only before you start using the ticket (before pressing the "Activate" button). However, a fee of 440 yen (the same amount for adults and children) will be charged per ticket.
    In addition, refunds are not accepted under any circumstances after you start using the ticket (after pressing the "Activate" button).
