    When do you accept reservations?

    [New Reservations]
    We accept reservations for 24 hours. However, when you apply for a reservation from 23:00 to 05:30 (Japan time), we hold your reservation once and inform you of the result by e-mail next morning. Note that you may not be able to use the system even during the above hours due to system maintenance. The schedule of system maintenance will be announced in ""Notice"" on the top page of our booking website.

    We accept requests for changes and refunds from 05:30 to 23:00 (Japan time).

    What is the age range for a child?

    The child’s fare applies to children between the ages of 6 and 11 years old.

    For purchases made through JR KYUSHU RAIL PASS Online Booking: the age of the child on the day the JR Kyushu Rail Pass is first used applies

    Also, children age 5 and younger can ride free of charge.
    However, if a child aged 5 years or younger will be using a reserved seat, please purchase a ticket (or a child’s JR Kyushu Rail Pass) for the required section.

    A notice of reservation establishment and other information are sent to customers from JR Kyushu by e-mail. Therefore, you need to use e-mail. Please register your own e-mail address to reserve and purchase a ticket.

    How do I pay?

    Payments are made using the credit card that you registered with us. Please note that you cannot use any other payment methods.We accept credit cards from the following brands.

    The following payment methods are unavailable even for cards bearing credit card brand logos. Tickets cannot be issued even if a reservation is made, so please do not register using the following types of cards.
    - Cards for which a physical plastic card is not issued, such as single-use cards, V-Preca, and virtual cards
    - Dedicated internet payment cards which have only the card number or no magnetic stripe information
    - Cards which do not carry an expiration date
    - Mini cards
    - Other cards which cannot be used in bricks-and-mortar stores

    How far in advance can I book a JR Kyushu Rail Pass?

    You may book a Rail Pass as early as 10 AM (Japan Time), 1 month in advance of the boarding date.
    For example, if your train boarding date is April 1, you can book and purchase tickets as early as March 1 at 10 AM.

    *If you purchase your Rail Pass at a travel agency, the time of purchase will depend on the tour company or travel agency. Please confirm this information by inquiring with or contacting a service representative at each company.

    Which trains and what types of seats can I book through JR KYUSHU RAIL PASS Online Booking?

    You can book a reserved seat (and some Green Car seats) on trains with reserved seating.

    However, please note that the following seats cannot be reserved.

    Can I reserve and purchase a reserved seat alone on JR KYUSHU RAIL PASS Online Booking without purchasing a JR Kyushu Rail Pass (voucher)?

    If you do not have a JR Kyushu Rail Pass or JR Kyushu Rail Pass voucher, you cannot book or purchase a reserved seat.

    To book a reserved seat on the booking site, you must purchase a JR Kyushu Rail Pass ahead of time in one of the following ways:
    1) Booking and purchasing a JR Kyushu Rail Pass through JR KYUSHU RAIL PASS Online Booking
    2) Purchasing a voucher for a JR Kyushu Rail Pass at designated travel agencies

    Customers who have purchased a voucher for JR Kyushu Rail Pass at a designated travel agency can reserve and purchase a reserved seat on our booking website.

    Designated travel agencies are as follows:
    JTB, Nippon Travel Agency, JALPAK, JR Kyushu Jet Ferry, Doctortour, Korea Railroad Corporation, MODE TOUR, Hana tour, Cosmo Travel, myrealtrip, EGL Tours, Package Tour, Yes Trip, cola tour, LION TRAVEL, KLOOK, KKday, Fliggy, Ctrip, LINKTIVITY and their affiliate travel agencies/shops

    In addition, below 3 types voucher are available for Reservation/Purchase of Seats below.
    1) With “KRP Reservation No.”(15-digit reference number starting with capital letter “K”)
    2) MCO/eMCO vouchers which are issued on exclusive paper with “Nippon Travel Agency” logo printed.
    3) Vouchers Issued by KLOOK
    4) Vouchers Issued by LINKTIVITY

    We are afraid you cannot. JR KYUSHU RAIL PASS Online Booking provides services related to JR Kyushu Rail Pass alone. Japan Rail Pass is not covered by our services.

    If I reserve and purchase a ticket on JR KYUSHU RAIL PASS Online Booking, can I board a train without performing other procedures?

    No, you cannot.
    You cannot board a train only by reserving and purchasing a ticket on our booking website. Be sure to pick up the ticket you have reserved at a designated ticket office of JR Kyushu before boarding.     Can I reserve and purchase multiple passes for an identical user on JR KYUSHU RAIL PASS Online Booking?

    An identical user cannot purchase multiple passes of which term of validity are exactly the same. An identical user can purchase multiple passes of which term of validity are partially overlapping (E.g.: A 3-day pass for Northern Kyushu area valid from Jan. 1 to Jan. 3 and a 3-day pass for Southern Kyushu area valid from Jan. 3 to Jan. 5).
    However, you cannot reserve and purchase multiple passes in one operation. Please carry out an reservation and purchase operation separately for each pass.

    If your JR Kyushu Rail Pass voucher has a KRP Reservation No. (15-digit number stating with capital letter K), you don't need to select a travel agency name. Leave the travel agency name as is the initial display without selecting anything and input other items. Then click "Set password".

    There is a possibility that you entered incorrect information for any of card No., term of validity, and card company when registering credit card information.
    We are sorry to bother you, but please perform the reservation and purchase procedure again.
    Note that seat reservation may not be established when all seats are sold.

    No, you cannot use the seat reservation as it is.For the seat reserved using the voucher before change, perform the refund procedure by yourself on our booking website.

    When are the settlements of purchase, change, and refund made?

    The settlements of purchase, change, and refund are made at the point when the completion screen is displayed and an e-mail that informs that the purchase, change, or refund is completed is sent from JR Kyushu. The contract is concluded at the point when the reservation is established. Therefore, refund after the establishment of reservation requires a fee. A reservation accepted from 23:00 to 5:30 (Japan time) is settled at the point when the reservation and purchase is established next morning.

    After changing the reservation, the pre-change reservation and the post-change reservation have been twice settled from the credit card. Isn't it a mistake?

    If you change the ticket, it will be settled again by credit card. However, pre-change reservations will be refunded to your account via the credit card company at no charge. The timing of refunding pre-change bookings and the time of settlement of post-change bookings vary depending on the credit card company.
    If the change requires a handling fee, such as when decreasing the number of passengers, we will make a refund after deducting the handling fee.

    If I don't pick up a reserved ticket, is the money I have paid automatically refunded?

    No, it is not automatically refunded. You must make a refund on the JR KYUSHU RAIL PASS Online Booking website before the departure time of the reserved train. We will refund the amount deducted the handling fee to the credit card.

    We are afraind you cannot. If you don't present the credit card used for reservation and purchase, you cannot pick up the ticket.You need to take the procedure to refund the reserved ticket at the ticket office and purchase a new ticket you need again.

    What should I do if my credit card number has changed because my old card was lost and a new one has been reissued?

    If the card number changes, you can not receive the ticket.
