Situated on the Pacific Ocean, Miyazaki Prefecture offers beautiful coastal views. Among those scenic areas on the coast, the Nichinan Beach area is special and offers a lot to see. The area has many costal sightseeing spots, including the Aoshima Island (where subtropical plants designated as protected species can be found), "Devil's Washboard” beach (consisting of wave-like rocks), and the Udo Jingu Shrine.
