One of the characteristics of the Tsubame is the high-class interior design which is combined with an atmosphere where you can easily relax. The seats are spacious, and are set in pair formation. Armrests, on both sides of each seat for extra comfort, are made of wood with a smooth and pleasant finish. These seats perfect the creation of a pleasant atmosphere for our passengers, by being finished with a soft and airy natural material, complimented by the bright whiteness of the cabin.

Lighting reflects from the white ceiling, providing soft light, which is gentle on the eyes of our passengers. The curved and striped pattern of the ceiling creates a fresh look, which compliments the lighting.

The Shinkansen travels a route with many tunnels, and as a result the windows of each cabin are equipped with roll blinds to gently soften the reflected light. These blinds are designed to enable passengers to appreciate the natural colours, and light, within the cabin.

The partition wall at the end of each cabin is constructed from Camphor wood, a special product of Kyushu known for its sterilizing qualities and its ability to kill insects. The natural colour of the tree adds an interesting design element to the cabin, while the scent helps people to relax completely.

White is the main colour used for the floor at the side of the passage to enhance the feeling of purity. In contrast, darker colours are employed for the colour scheme of the floor by the windows to work in harmony with the daylight outside.
